Test report on hydroponic culture under L.E.D. lighting

Our evaluation will aim to determine the gram per watt yield on three crops in a box, for an area of 1.5 m by 1.5 m or 2.25m2.

Each box contains 49 plants in a 7 liter pot on a hydroponic coco substrate.

An irrigation by percolation in OPEN circuit coming from the same tank of mineral nutritive solution. We will opt for the CRYSTAL TOP fertilization range.

In order not to distort the test, all parameters will be identical on the three boxes.

- Controlled irrigation and fertilization with TROLMASTER Aqua-X

- Climate with co2 supply at 1400ppm controlled by TROLMASTER Hydro-X

Details of the culture protocol

Genetics and techniques used:

LIMONCELLO CRM phenotype from Green Mind SA, identical in the three culture spaces.

-49 plants placed in each box, each pot with a capacity of 7l of substrate and a size of 18x18cm.

For the first trial, we opted for a COCO hydroponic substrate. (Plagron)

The irrigation is done by open circuit percolation, controlled by a cyclic timer TROLLMASTER AQUA-X, on a cycle of 30 seconds every hour for the daytime periods.

For the night periods, the cycles were set to 3 x 1 min per 12-hour night period.

Electroconductivity levels will be held higher than on a culture under HPS 1'000w bulbs.

EC of 1. 5 to 1.9 in vegetative period, going up to 2.9 in bloom without sign of burning or on fertilization.

The Ph held in a scale between 5.5 to 6.0.

Cultivation process

The three growing areas showed distinct signs of devolution on the plants.


The period of transit, adaptation and rooting is faster on the model:

F.O.G 600W AIR GROW PRO III HYPER RED


The vegetation period is slightly faster on the models :

F.O.G 600W AIR GROW PRO II and Osram by fluence 660w Spydr x


The stretch on the pre-flowering period is more pronounced on the luminary:

Osram by fluence 660w Spydr x


For the 3rd, 4th and 5th week of blooming :

the 3 lights are equal.


For the last 2 weeks of flowering:

1. The lamp fluence 660w Spydr x, seems to give fruits of a bigger size but less compact than the F.O.G, the tint is light green and begin to yellow.


2. The F.O.G 600W AIR GROW PRO III HYPER RED and F.O.G 600W AIR GROW PRO II lights gave the plants a purple, violet hue and very compact, hard fruit.

The F.O.G AIR GROW PRO III HYPER RED version brought more flavor and terpenes to the fruit.


Conclusion and performance


In 3rd place:

Osram by fluence Spydr x

Results for 660w on 2.25m2 = 733 gr = 1.1 g/w


In 2nd place:

F.O.G 600W AIR GROW PRO II

Result for 600w on 2.25m2 = 693 gr = 1.15 g/w


In 1st place:

F.O.G 600W AIR GROW PRO III HYPER RED

Result for 600w on 2.25m2 = 808 gr = 1.35 g/w


The F.O.G 600w AIR GROW PRO HYPER RED has been rated the best luminaire in the test by Green Mind S.A.

Its performance in terms of grams produced / watt consumed and the quality of the final product, is unanimous and positions it as the best luminaire tested so far.
